After Kyoko realized she felt in love with Kakashi, she was only waiting for the right situation to tell him. When they met at night again, just like they normally did when neither of them were able to sleep because of their nightmares, she finally found the courage to tell him how she feels about him. But Kakashi wasn't able to say the same, so he just replied: "I know." Kyoko, who wasnt expecting he could already know, was pretty disappointed about his words, so she just turned around and left him while saying: "Then there's nothing more to say." Kakashi wanted to hold her back, because he didnt wanted to hurt the Kunoichi, but he wasnt able to. The guilt and pain he was always feeling inside wouldnt let him return Kyokos feelings.
