When one of her Anbu missions went terribly wrong, Kyoko was forced to kill one of her closed friends Baku to save the rest of the team and some other people. Kabuto, who had some parts of Orochimarus chakra at that time made her decide either to kill Baku or he will kill her whole team. Baku also told her to kill him and finally she did and Kabuto released all of them. Anyways Kyoko felt horrible for killing her best friend and when they returned to Konoha she wasnt even able to talk with anybody about what happend. She started dreaming very bad about killing all her friends and when she met Kakashi after one of her dreams she made him promise to stop her whenever she would be a danger to the people that are important to her. 
Kabuto however let her kill her best friend to reactivate her Juin, which she once got when she was with Orochimaru. And his plan worked and only a few days after Kyokos Anbu team returned to Konoha she lost control and her juin got activated. She lost her feelings again and started steeling some top secret information to bring them to Kabuto. Anyways Kakashi, remembering the promise he made, got in her way trying to stop her.
